MS On the Move Luncheon Honoring Iris Young
On Thursday, June 2nd the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will hold the 2016 On the Move Luncheon at the Jacksonville Marriott.
This year the luncheon will honor and celebrate the life of inspirational community leader Iris Young. Iris spent her career at the helm of the Jewish Family and Community Services agency before retiring in 2010. Iris has lived with progressive MS which today completely limits her ability to move, but through the help of assistive technology she is able to navigate her environment. She currently serves as a Trustee of the National MS Society North Florida Chapter, is a member of the Mayor's Public Service Grants Council, consults for UNF's small business initiatives and serves on the board of City Kids Arts Factory.
The event, hosted by Channel 4's Mary Baer, will also feature a raffle, flower auction and local jewelry sale. Funds raised by the luncheon benefit the research and services of the Society.
The National MS Society mobilizes people and resources so that everyone affected by MS can live their best lives as we stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost and end MS forever. To fulfill this mission, the Society funds cutting-edge research, drives change through advocacy, facilitates professional education, collaborates with MS organizations around the world, and provides programs and services designed to help people with MS and their families move their lives forward. The Society is dedicated to achieving a world free of MS.
