Amazon Bestseller Strategy Or Social Networks - Which Should You Use?


We have two questions today. First we'll talk about whether you should use the Amazon bestseller strategy to sell your book or if you should use social networks instead. Social networks are hot now, but will they really do the job? Keep reading to find out.

We'll follow up with a question about product packaging. How should you offer eBooks and videos? Now let's get to the questions.

Question #1: Is the Amazon bestseller strategy still the most cost effective way to market a new book? Or are there better ways to do the same thing on social networks?

Answer: This is a great question. The answer is that the Amazon bestseller campaign is still the best way to go. Why? In order for social networking to be fruitful you would have to have an extensive amount of people in your social network. I might use a social network to help hype up your book, but it would only be for a side benefit. Don't count solely on social networks to result in a best seller campaign.

I've said in the past that social networks do not make you money directly. Don't expect them to be the magic pill that explodes your profits. Instead, focus on optimizing your Amazon bestseller campaign so you can maximize your profit.

Question #2: I have an eBook in a downloadable package that I'm selling. I produced a bunch of videos that correspond with the chapters in the eBook. What would be more beneficial - 1. Combine all the videos with the eBook and create a more expensive package or 2. Turn these videos into a product on its own?

Answer: It depends on what kind of outcome you desire. Either option would be beneficial for the customer. Receiving the eBook and videos, whether they are paired together in a package or not, will provide the customer with valuable information.

As far as making more money, if you take the videos and turn them into a package then you will rake in more money. Why? People like to buy videos that you can ship to them. The value of the package increases in the eyes of the customers. They will be more willingly to pay a higher price for the package.

Try this strategy. Have two versions of your products. You can have a digital version of the eBook which also includes the videos. Then you can up sell to them by saying, "I know you have the digital eBook and videos, but how would you like me to ship the eBook and the videos in the mail instead?"

You can sell the hard copy format for a higher price thus allowing you to make more money from the same content. This type of up sell is highly effective and enables you to use the same content with little extra work. The work will just be in the fulfillment aspect of your product.
