Quintet of the Americas Presents Another Realm, Unusual Musical Combinations Concert in Queens on September 12
Quintet of the Americas will present Another Realm, Unusual Musical Combinations, concerts on Saturday, September 12 - 2 PM at Langston Hughes Library, 100-01 Northern Blvd in Corona and Sunday, September 13 - 2 PM at Flushing Library, 41-17 Main Street in Flushing, Queens, New York.

Quintet of the Americas, Queens' renowned woodwind quintet, will present concerts that will feature music combining Western traditions with Chinese, Latin American, and African musical traditions. The sound of the woodwind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon) will be combined with electronics, harp, mbira (African thumb piano), and Latin American folk rattles and flutes in music inspired by the human spirit.

Guest artists will be master mbira player Chartwell Dutiro from Zimbabwe (http://chartwelldutiro.com/), and harpist Susan Jolles.
